The tank - a prominent feature of a bike |
This ivory base colour tank has "Indian-red"
teardrop panels as a base for the early chief headdress decals. I once lost one of the petrol caps, but found a perfect match replacement in a parts heap from an early 30s Chevrolet... - same manufacturer?
The stripes of the tank are different from the rest of the motorcykle in width and are also different as the brush strokes show. The lines on the tank varies in width from a narrow 6.5 mm to the widest 9.5mm in the curve at the front
The ivory colour of the tank looks almost yellow after all the years . The in-(frame)sides of the tank has been treated a bit to find the right shade and it looks like ivory more than yellow. To determine correct shade, I would sand lightly, rub and shine up a piece of paintwork that has been relatively protected from the sunlight for a matching colour,     -not yet.
The stripings on the tank are not exactly identical from one side to the other, Looking at the stripings as close as this reveals that they are meant to be viewed at some distance....... |
